Whole calendar days to or since a date you named — on your Home Screen, Lock Screen and at 09:00 in a reminder. No account, no cloud, no ads.
Answers to the questions we actually get, in the order people ask them.
T-Minus counts whole calendar days: the difference between today's date and the event's date, nothing to do with the time of day. An event tomorrow is always "1 day", whether it is 00:05 or 23:55 now. Each event is stored as a plain date (year-month-day), never as a timestamp, so changing time zone or crossing a daylight-saving change can never make a count come out one short or one long.
The list re-computes itself at local midnight and every time you return to the app; you never need to refresh.
Switch on Repeat every year and the event rolls forward to its next anniversary as soon as the day has passed. For a 29 February date, in years without a 29th the anniversary falls on 28 February — it never slips into March — and the reminder still fires that day.
Turn on Count up for a date in the past (together 500 days, smoke-free 30 days…). Count-up events sit in their own section and sort by the longest streak. Free for every event.
At 09:00 local time on the day of the event, as a local notification scheduled on the phone itself — nothing is sent through a server. The notification contains only the event name you typed. The "on the day" reminder is free for every event; the extra reminders 1 day and 1 week before (also at 09:00) are part of Unlimited.
Check in this order: 1) iOS Settings → Notifications → T-Minus → Allow Notifications is on (T-Minus asks for permission only the first time you switch a reminder on, never at launch); 2) the event's reminder toggle is actually on; 3) Focus or Do Not Disturb was not silencing 09:00 that day. T-Minus re-plans every reminder at launch, at midnight and after every edit, so simply opening the app repairs a stale schedule. Reminders for repeating 29 February events are re-armed each year on purpose, because the system's own yearly repeat would only fire in leap years.
Long-press the Home Screen → + → search "T-Minus". Lock Screen: long-press the lock screen → Customize → tap the widget area. The widget reads events from a storage area shared only between T-Minus and its widget; it recomputes days at midnight on its own and shows labels in the language you use the app in.
The small Home Screen widget (your nearest event) is free. The medium and large list widgets and the Lock Screen widgets are part of Unlimited; without it they show "Unlock in T-Minus".
Open the app once — the widget is refreshed whenever the app saves. If it still shows nothing, remove the widget and add it again; widget caches occasionally stick after an iOS update.
Settings → Export events writes a small versioned JSON file that you save wherever you like: Files, iCloud Drive, Mail. That file is the only backup there is — T-Minus has no cloud sync, so keep it somewhere outside the phone if the events matter.
Settings → Import events merges by event id, so importing the same file twice never creates duplicates. On the free tier only as many new events are restored as free slots remain; the app tells you how many were skipped ("not added: the free version keeps up to 10 events"). Unlock Unlimited and import again to get the rest — nothing in the file is lost.
Settings → Delete all data removes every event and reminder on this device. It cannot be undone, and it does not touch your Unlimited purchase. Deleting the app has the same effect.
Unlimited is a one-time purchase: billed once by the App Store at the price shown in the app in your own currency, no subscription, no renewal, nothing to cancel. If you ever let the purchase lapse (for example a refund), custom colours, emoji and before-reminders are hidden from your events but the events themselves stay; they come back untouched when Unlimited is active again.
Install T-Minus, open Settings → Restore purchase. The App Store checks whether the Apple ID on this phone bought Unlimited; if so it unlocks in a few seconds and shows "Unlimited restored". If you are told nothing was found, you are signed in with a different Apple ID than the one that purchased. "The store has not confirmed this purchase yet" after buying means the receipt is still in flight — wait a moment and tap Restore. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; we cannot see or refund transactions ourselves.
Events, reminders and settings are stored locally on your phone. T-Minus has no account, no server of ours, no analytics and no advertising. Reminders are local notifications; widgets read from an app-group container that only T-Minus and its widget can open; a backup file goes only where you save it. The App Store confirms your purchase on the device. Full text: T-Minus privacy policy.
